Our Music Ministry

Unity of the White Mountains is blessed to have a group of talented musicians in our congregation.  They play a wide variety of music from traditional Unity songs to popular tunes.  At the bottom of this page there is a video of their performance on August 7, 2016.  Not your traditional church music!  All songs are coordinated with the topic of each Sunday's talk.  Occasionally we have guest performers and our own Enchanted Choir, led by Choir Director Barbara Courtright, practices every Wednesday at 6 PM and performs once each month.

A note from our Music Director, Bob Veltre:  I was asked to play the music at Unity of the White Mountains in 2007 and it's been a good experience for me.  I've been able to play a lot of original music and a lot of different styles.  Originally I was preparing tracks to play along with each week with our vocalist, then we went live with a full band.  Early on I played mostly guitar and was able to bring many styles into the church:  classical, jazz, blues, rock, country, bluegrass. Now I'm playing mostly piano, a beautiful Baldwin grand, a real pleasure.  My piano technique and feel have improved with all the playing.  It's been a great gift to be able to prepare the charts and play music at Unity of the White Mountains with Chris Long, a very accomplished acoustic jazz bassist, John Darst from the John Darst Trio on guitar, and  Brandi Odette, an up and coming young drummer/percussionist.  Our vocalist, Barbara Courtright, has a wonderful quality to her voice and feels the message of the new thought music in every phrase.  Please come and listen to our quartet of piano/guitar, stand up bass, drums/congas, and vocalist.  I know you'll be pleased and that we will surprise you !
